Johannesburg: Unilever have just launched a newly branded Knorrox range of spice mixes. The spice mixes are now available in a spicy tub and sleeve combination, created by Burcap Plastics and Nampak Cartons & Labels respectively with Unilever's Packaging Development Team.
Cartons & Labels produced the litho printed sleeve to be applied in-line onto the tub. The sleeve has been printed in five colours, and varnished to add visual appeal. This type of finishing allows the tub to stand out on the shelf, through the assurance of high quality graphics.
According to Ian Vowles, national marketing manager of Nampak Cartons & Labels, 'using a high graphic litho print is effective for this brand. The sleeve is able to achieve a highly effective graphical appeal, which increases its ability to grab end-user attention. The sleeve has also been tapered to fit the tub snugly, and follows the profile of the top of the tub.
Placing the Knorrox spices, which come in nine different variants, in plastic containers also adds value to both the brand and the end user through the capacity to reuse the container.
