Nampak helps package Sarita
Packaging received special attention when SAB recently launched the new apple flavoured alcoholic drink, Sarita. And which packaging company did the beverage giant decide to use? The Nampak group, of course!
Two Nampak divisions were brought on board - Nampak Cartons & Labels and Nampak Corrugated.
Nampak Cartons & Labels produced an eight-sided carton for the Sarita six-pack. Printed in six colours with a high gloss, water-based varnish, which enhances scuff resistance, the cartons have no sharp edges, look more 'feminine' and maintain a quality appearance on-shelf.
To enhance the sensual feel the illustration of the bottle has been intricately embossed and debossed and the gold band achieved by mixing gold and silver metallic inks. Two circles are also die-cut into the lids, which make carrying easier. According to divisional marketing manager, Ian Vowles, the carton is consistent with the Sarita brand, which is positioned as an exclusive and superior alcoholic beverage, targeted at mainly female drinkers.
Nampak Corrugated manufactured the open-top shippers (trays, [Status]), which hold four six-packs. The two divisions worked closely together to ensure the appropriate synergies.
