Nampak Flexible achieves more in 2010
In recent years, 2010 has been one of the most remarkable and memorable periods for South Africa. The country not only successfully hosted the prestigious FIFA World Cup, but turned it into even more of a world-class event than it already was, setting the bar high for the next hosts. This year, Nampak Flexible, Africa’s largest flexible packaging company, has also raised the bar and shown that not only are they capable of delivering “World Class” quality, they’re MORE than capable of exceeding it.
The benchmark for 2010 was set when Nampak Flexible ended 2009 on a high note, having won 3 Gold Pack Awards and 2 FTSA Awards, along with various other internal targets that they not only met but exceeded. 2010’s curtain raiser was the KWV Supplier Of The Year award, which was awarded to Nampak Flexible N’dabeni, with an average of 98% across various criteria such as technical expertise, communication and partnerships, on time and In full deliveries, exceptional quality and so much MORE.
Speaking of quality, Nampak Flexible is both ISO 9001 and 14001 accredited, which is testament to their commitment to environmental sustainability, and giving MORE back. The flexible packaging leader also achieved highly on the international stage when they received Gold & Bronze awards at the FTA International awards held at Las Vegas in May of this year, not to mention receiving their second BRC accreditation for the Nampak Flexible Pinetown plant and the first for the Nampak Flexible N’dabeni plant in Cape Town. The BRC accreditation plays a particularly important role in the export markets where, according to Robin Moore, Nampak Flexible Managing Director, the accreditation is vital for potential and existing customers who export to the United Kingdom and Europe where BRC accreditation is the entry ticket to supplying all the major supermarket chains. Accreditations such as BRC just go to show that an achievement for Nampak Flexible is really a win for their customers at the end of the day.
To top off a high-achievement year, Nampak Flexible took home three awards at the first ever Fima Golden Roll Awards, held at the Silver Star Casino in early November. The awards, given for innovative use of BOPP film in packaging, saw Nampak Flexible receive both a Gold & Bronze award, as well as the Golden Clip Award, which is the event’s overall winning prize. All in all the year shaped up to be one of top achievements and we expect even MORE from Nampak Flexible in the year to come.
